A picture

While I was sorting through pictures, I came across Charlie's ID card from middle school.  He was in 7th grade.  Kyle saw it and grabbed it.  I thought maybe he knew it was his Daddy, but actually he was convinced it was Connor!  What do you think?

Connor turns 8!!

It is simply amazing to me that my baby boy is now 8 years old!  We just cannot believe how quickly time has flown.

The day after he was born!

We got to take a popcorn treat to all his classmates.

He was super excited to bring it and his classmates were super excited to eat it.

One of his teachers made him a cake!  She thought he might throw it away as soon as he walked away, but he has treasured it (which made her very happy!)

 He wanted pineapple pizza for dinner.

 

 He also wanted an ice cream cake.

 

 

 That last candle was being difficult!

Then there was today's experiment.  They made bugs!

I have spent hours upon hours searching through thousands of pictures, both on the computer and actual pictures, to find 'evidence' of all the stuff that was stolen.  Please learn from our situation and take pictures of serial numbers and anything you deem important and valuable.

Science

As I mentioned in a previous post, Connor is back in Scientist mode.  He got some experiment kits for his birthday and he has been dying to use them.  Charlie has been doing one experiment with them a night.  First one was to make edible bubbling brains.  While the effect was cool, the finished product did not taste very good to the boys.  Nicholas refused to even try it, but Kyle and Connor were quite eager and sorely disappointed in the taste.  As a result, Connor wanted to try and non-edible experiment today.  They made a glow in the dark rubber ball.

First day of School!

I got a new camera!  Yay!  I wanted to be able to take pictures of the boys with an actual camera for their first day of school.  I spent yesterday afternoon playing with the camera to get used to it, so I will add those pictures first.

Connor is back in inventor/scientist mode and is wearing his lab coat around again.  

We'll see how long it stays white!

 

 

 

 

Today was the older boys' first day back at school.  They were so excited and nervous about the new school year.  They woke up at 6:30!  I tried to get them to sleep a little longer, but they just couldn't!  We got to school and all three boys played on the playground together.  I was amused that a little girl walked up to me (She must have been Kinder or First Grade.)  She said, "Oh hi!  What grade do you teach?"  I told her that I didn't teach any grades at this school, and she said, "Oh, but you ARE a teacher somewhere aren't you?  You LOOK like a teacher."  I laughed and told her I did used to teach.  It amused me that even in shorts and a t-shirt, I still look the part!
When the bell rang, we dropped off Connor at his classroom line and went to take Nicholas to the Kindergarten area to go to his classroom.  He hung up his backpack and went in.  We found his name tag and he found a place to start playing.  He was perfectly content to stay and started talking with the kids around him. 
Kyle and I went home and he was not happy!  As soon as we walked in the door, he kept insisting we go back and get Nicholas!  Apparently he still remembers that we would drop off Connor and Nicholas would stay home to play with him.  He was not a happy camper!  Thankfully, today was a short day for the Kindergarten students and Kyle was so happy when we collected Nicholas. 
Nicholas reported that he had a good day and he made a friend, but he forgot his name.  He was a little worried about that, so I told him to just ask the boy his name tomorrow.  He was even more worried about what the boy might think if he asked him his name AGAIN since he had already asked him today.  I assured him it would probably be just fine if he asked again.

When we went to pick up Connor at the end of the day, he was a super happy camper!  He said he loved his class and teacher and that his day had just completely flown by!  He can't wait to go back tomorrow!  He is especially thrilled that his best friend, Rachel, is in his class still.  He was also glad that his good friends, Dax and Delilah, were also with him in class.

There was a Kindergarten parent meeting this morning, so Kyle indulged in the spread of fruit and muffins!

On the walk home, Kyle finally napped!  He had been awake since 6 AM!  He normally wakes up at 7:30 or 8 and naps around lunchtime, but apparently today was too traumatizing so he fought his nap.
