Connor's Birthday Celebration

This year Connor decided he was too old for a little kid birthday party, so he invited a few friends to Dave and Buster's for games and dinner.  They had so much fun!

 Connor asked me last minute to make some treats, so I made an 8 bit heart (without a cookie cutter!).  I cut out each sugar cookie in the shape I needed.  Then I also made heart shaped cupcakes.  The hearts are part of a game he likes and he wanted his celebration to be in that theme.

 

Connor turns 12!

I can't believe how fast the years are going!  

 We had intended to celebrate Monday night on his actual birthday, but we got a call on Sunday afternoon that the school play (Mulan Jr.) starts that night.  So we celebrated last night!  The boys had MOD Pizza and then we had an oreo cookie ice cream cake from Coldstone (sooooo good!).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First day of school

Today was the first day of school!  The boys had great days and love their teachers.  We are so excited for the school year!

Connor had to go to school early to pick up his schedule before school. He is psyched for 7th grade!

 

 

 Nicholas is in 4th grade and Kyle is in 1st grade.  They are lucky enough to have teachers we know and love!  Going to be an exciting year!

 

 

 Kyle was a little sad and nervous because his two best friends are in another class, but he perked up when Takumi sat next to him.  He was glad to have one buddy on the first day at least.

 

 Here is a first day of first grade picture of all 3 boys with Mrs. Heiser!  Please excuse Kyle's less than enthusiastic face (He was wanting to go get ice cream already and not pose for pictures!).

 Nicholas has Mrs. Wilhelm and Mrs. Farnum.  When Connor had the 4th grade team, it was Mrs. Wilhelm and Mrs. Lindsay.  We are sad Mrs. Lindsay is gone but we love Mrs. Farnum too, so all is well!

Texas

Our visit to Texas was wonderful as usual.  We stayed a little less than we normally do this year, and it went by very quickly.  We miss everyone in Texas!

My parents have a matching shirt with the boys on them.  The boys have their own fan club!

 We went for many early morning walks while in Texas (before it got too hot).

 The boys celebrated their birthdays with their Texas family.  This year they decided on a Hot Wheels theme.  My super talented Tia Ito made the cake and the table decor.  Everyone was amazed at the fruits of her labor!
