We went on Sunday to the Doctor for the third time in a week with Connor. His Pediatrician had seen him on Friday and said if he continued with fever on Saturday night, take him to get some testing done on Sunday. Saturday he had low grade fever, so we took him.
The main things that were bothering me is that I didn't know why he was so sick. I mean, we all got sick, but he got super sick. He had zero energy and high fever for most of the week, low fever towards the end. The Pediatrician said that maybe he had Mono or just the flu really bad. I was like Mono? I didn't even realize kids got Mono. I was so confused (and reading about Mono online wasn't really helping). I really wanted answers.
Connor was not happy about having to submit to the tests but he cooperated. He had to give blood to test for Mono and a nose swab to test for flu. Thankfully, it was neither of those. He just had a really bad virus that hit him harder than the rest of us. She also said it may have been that he was sick with one virus and then got a different virus on top if it, given that he was sick with fever so long. That would also explain why Nicholas and I took so long to get a fever.
In any case, this week he is back in school and more himself. We are all still stuck with this annoying cough, but I can finally see the end of this bout of sickness coming to an end.
Here we have everyone working on homework.
