Spring Break

The kids are on Spring Break this week.  We haven't gone away, but we have enjoyed several play dates and a trip to the Children's Museum.

 Kyle didn't even try the balance beam.  He just threw himself over it and said it was too hard.  He also refused to go near the dragon and would not dress up.

 Nicholas commented he was strong enough to do this, so of course Connor had to prove he was stronger.

 

 He had his little brothers fill up both of the baskets with anything they could find in this display to make the baskets as heavy as possible.

Birthday party fun

Today we attended a birthday party and they had face painting there-- so that is exactly what the kids asked for, their face painted!  Connor had a green face, Nicholas had a red face, and Kyle had a blue face.  By the time we got home, Kyle had wiped away almost all his blue paint.  I hope it comes off his shirt just as easily!

 

 

Spring

We spent a little time outside today and took some pictures.  Kyle is wearing a Plants VS Zombies tshirt, spiderman pants and Batman socks.  Yes, he dressed himself.

Principal Superstar

Every week the Principal goes around observing and seeing which students are going above and beyond at something and then he gives out a few awards on Friday.  Today he called out Nicholas' name.  Even though he heard his name, Nicholas was in shock and kept looking around like they couldn't possibly be calling on him.  Eventually he went up there and got his award for being a good role model at recess.  Most of the kids leave their playthings on the ground when the recess bell rings, but Nicholas always cleans up his stuff and puts it away where it belongs.  I'm so proud of my little guy!

 

 

 

Pizza and Frogs

Today while at Cost Plus World Market, I found a package of 5 small pizza crusts.  It was like it was a package made just for us!  We each made our own pizza.  We had the following topping options- pepperoni, pineapple, Italian sausage, ground beef, meatballs, and bacon crumbles. 

Charlie chose Italian Sausage and Bacon.

 Connor had pineapple, pepperoni, and bacon crumbles.

 I had pineapple, ground beef, and bacon crumbles.

 Kyle had pineapple, pepperoni, and meatballs.

 Nicholas has meatballs and pepperoni.

 It is almost time for the annual Frog Jump, so Connor made this poster for the contest.  I am quite impressed with his work!

Spring

Almost every year, some birds make their nest in our carport.  We were very excited to see them building yesterday and today we took Momma and Poppa's picture.  Whenever we are outside they fly to the top of the orange tree.

Given the coloration, I assume this is the Daddy Bird.

 Which makes this the Mommy Bird.

 And Kyle desperately wanted me to capture a picture of a butterfly in flight, but they move so fast it was hard to get a good one.  They flutter all around the Passion Fruit flowers that grow around these cactus plants.

Field Trip

The First Grade class went on a hike field trip.  The biggest excitement came from seeing a Banana Slug.
