Some of you may recall that last year the boys participated in an art contest at school put on by the PTA. Last year they submitted a photo. Nicholas won 1st place at the school level for his age division. He went on to District, where he won and became eligible to go on to Regional level competition.
Well, this year the boys decided their entries would be movies. I was dreading this since I have no idea how to make a movie, but I agreed to do my best to film their movie. The theme is "The World Would Be A Better Place If...." Connor decided the world would be a better place without greed and Nicholas decided the world would be a better place without bullies. They made their props and I filmed each scene. We had Charlie string the scenes together and make it a playable movie. We turned them in and hoped for the best. On Monday, I heard back that both boys won 1st place in their age divisions at school and that the judges were blown away with their movies. They were so impressed with Nicholas' video about bullies that they want to show it to the whole school as a message against bullying.
We are so proud of the boys and the hard work they put into their videos. We hope you enjoy them! They are scheduled to go on to District level competition on November 17th. Wish us luck!

Nicholas and Marija's Wedding
This last Sunday, I was fortunate to be a part of one of my best friend's wedding. It was a wonderful day and I will always remember it fondly. :)

Principal Super Star
Every week at the boys' school, a student from each classroom is chosen to be recognized. Those are known in advance so that the parents can attend the Friday Assembly and take pictures. Every week a few students from the school in general are chosen by the Principal to be recognized for something he deemed exemplary in them. These Principal picks are always a surprise and there is usually only one or two each week from the whole school. This week, it turned out that Connor was selected to be recognized. We were all happily surprised and excited! Connor was thrilled! This award literally made his day the best! He was recognized for being kind to others and always being respectful.

Halloween Houses
We had wanted to get a Halloween Gingerbread house, but I failed to find one. We improvised and it was delicious either way.

Pumpkins
Today we carved pumpkins. Well, I carved and they directed. The light outside kept turning on because it is so windy outside, so I gave up trying to compete with it to take the pictures.
