Magic
I took the boys to the library today to see a magician. They LOVED it! The Magician asked for volunteers and chose Connor. He didn't even know what he was volunteering for, but he was eager! When he found out what the trick was, he was pretty nervous. He was going to have a shackle placed on his neck and then have a sword pushed through it from one side of his neck to the other. He was brave and even though he later confessed his doubts about it all, he went through with it. The younger two boys asked me if Connor would be okay and after I assured them he would, they relaxed and enjoyed the trick. It was pretty amazing to watch! Connor's eyes were so wide when he watched the sword come out the other side.
Nicholas was also picked to help the Magician. His trick was not as 'scary' though! He tore up some paper and then mashed it together and when he unfolded the wad of paper scraps, it had turned into a jack-o-lantern mask.
It was a really good show and we were so happy to have been able to attend. Although, if you ask Kyle, he will tell you that he would have enjoyed it more if the Magician had picked him as well.

Pumpkin Patch
Yesterday we went to the Pumpkin Patch with our friends. The kids had so much fun, despite the fact that it was suddenly very, very windy and cold!
Lainie didn't go to the Pumpkin Patch, but she got some love when we got home.

Costume Birthday Party
Today we celebrated Tiernan's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a costume party and so we wore our Halloween costumes.
Kyle was dressed as Spider-man.
Nicholas got pretty competitive at this air hockey game.
Birthday boy, Tiernan, looks on as Nicholas tries to beat his friend, Ryan.
Two happy brothers
I love their facial expressions!
I am dressed as Spider-woman.
Nicholas is dressed as Iron Spider (a cross between Iron Man and Spider-man).
Connor is dressed as Superior Spider-man.

Active Days
Thursday, the 49ers came to school to hold a race. The top 3 finishers of each grade got to participate in the race being held on Saturday at Levi Stadium. Nicholas raced his heart out but didn't make the top 3. He was proud to get a medal and a t-shirt anyway.
Friday was the Walk-a-thon for Connor in middle school and the younger two at their elementary. Connor walked 15 laps. Nicholas was feeling tired from the previous day and only walked 2. Kyle walked at least 13 laps. He came to me for some water and told me that he had been walking laps, but lost his lap card at some point and so he hadn't been getting his laps marked. We walked one more lap looking for his card. We finally found it and then he walked one more, but he gave up after that. Who knows how many he actually managed to walk though.
Today we walked to the Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival. It is always a good time. We went as soon as it opened to avoid the heat and long lines. We were home by Noon.

Various
I have been really, really bad about posting stuff on here. Sorry!
These are a few pictures of our adventures in life.
These first two are actually from August. We attended Nekoa's beach birthday party. It was a great time!
The other two boys also got a popsicle, but you can probably tell from the picture that they were quite sleep already.
Yesterday, Charlie and I attended the wedding of our friends, Ryan and Leann. It turned out to be a beautiful day! Everyone was afraid it was going to be the high 90s or 100s. Thankfully the high was 80 and it was overcast.
I am wearing this dress that I LOVE! I got it from Ross on clearance for $12. It was so perfect!

This is from Kyle's classroom. He's loving school!
On Tuesday of this week, Kyle asked me to help him put on his helmet so he could ride his bike. I did so and as he started to walk away from me, he somehow managed to trip and fall flat on his face. He was gushing blood. I took him inside and had him rinse his mouth so I could assess the damage. He managed to bite his lower lip and rip the small piece of skin that connects your upper lip to your gums. I called an advice nurse. She sort of freaked out a little bit and put me on hold while she discussed with a doctor. The doctor said to bring him in. Of course, Charlie wasn't home so I had to drag all three boys with me to ER. The ER was full, but we saw the doctor pretty quick because they were worried Kyle needed stitches. Thankfully, Doctor Emond said he didn't need stitches. Somehow the little piece of skin inside his lip was already healing pretty well. He prescribed him to eat lots of popsicles to keep down the swelling. Kyle was quite happy with that prescription. The other two boys also got a popsicle, but you can probably tell from the picture that they were quite sleep already.
Kyle was pretty excited and energetic.
He survived and we survived the ER trip. He was seen by a Dentist who also said his teeth were fine. Yay!Yesterday, Charlie and I attended the wedding of our friends, Ryan and Leann.
