Gold Rush Day

Friday, Connor's class celebrated Gold Rush Day at school.  Now, this was supposed to be held on May 9th, but had to be postponed due to lack of student motivation (Some unruly students were not cooperating!  Connor and his best friend cried when it was postponed because they had been told it was cancelled in general.)
So the day finally came.  Unfortunately, it coincided with Spirit week and the students were dressed as crazy as they could get for Friday's Spirit Week theme.  Oh well!  Anyway, Connor was so excited to finally get to show us his Boot Scooting Boogie moves!

Inside out shorts, backwards tshirt, funny socks, and two mismatched shoes, but he was ready to dance!

Dance Night and a Frog!

Friday was Family Dance night at the school.  The boys had fun, though they did very little actual dancing.  They spent more time with the balloon artist and playing with their balloon creations.

Today we found one of our tadpoles was a full fledged frog.  He was hopping happily around the habitat.  He's so cute!

Open House

Tuesday the boys had Open House and they were so excited to show us their work from throughout the year.  Of course, they were also excited to show us their dances they had been working on.
Ready to perform
Kyle randomly fell asleep right as we found our place on the blacktop to see the performances.
 Waiting to perform

Nicholas' class danced to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Connor's class danced to "Boot Scootin' Boogie."

Given the heat, the boys were dying of thirst after they performed.
 Nicholas showed off his work

 Connor showed us his work.
I love how his plans for his future keep changing.  Right now he's decided he wants to be a Police Officer.
