Labor day

We went to a "new to us" playground.  It is Saratoga Creek Park.  The kids had fun playing with friends.

 The boys had never ridden a tire swing before so I made them all do it so I could take pictures. 
They finally told me to stop taking pictures. HA!

 

 

 

 

 The younger two decided filling their socks with sand like a sand bag was the best thing ever.

 

 Charlie and Connor decided it was too hot and that they needed a nap.

Outdoor fun

Today I decided to take pictures of our outdoor activities.

 Kyle decided to try to climb the tree.

 He needed lots of help, but was quite pleased when he was finally up on it securely.

First Homework

Kyle's very first homework assignment was to fill out this All About Me poster.  He knew exactly what he wanted to put on there.

He likes tacos, strawberries, turtles, pizza, and Pokemon (especially Squirtle and Pikachu).  He wants to build houses when he grows up.  He doesn't like flies, ants, chili peppers, or cinnamon rolls.

Field Trip

Friday was Nicholas' turn to go on a field trip to the new Levi's Stadium.  He was not thrilled about going.  He actually asked us if we could just not turn in his permission slip so he'd have to stay at school because it sounded boring.  He apparently would rather stay at school working on school work that visit a football stadium.  We told him he should go anyway since it is brand new and he'd get to see it.  He agreed and was more excited on the actual day.

Here is a picture a friend who went on the field trip took.  You can see how enthralled Nicholas is in the presentation.  I put an arrow over his head. 
We asked him afterward if he enjoyed the trip and he said yes.  He said it was a lot of walking and they showed them a lot of stuff.  He said they saw a movie and had a question and answer portion, but that he was bummed he never got called upon to ask a question.

School and other stuff

On Tuesday, the boys' school had their back to school night.  It was an informative night and I loved seeing some of the stuff they have started to work on.  In Nicholas' classroom, there was a write-up each child had done detailing things they liked.  The parents were supposed to use this as clues to guess which paper belonged to their child.  You then flipped over the sheet to see if you were correct by unveiling what could be the self-portrait of your child (if you guessed correctly).  I thought I had it figured out right away, but couldn't check because the teacher was giving her presentation.  I then found that 3 other Moms were convinced that same paper belonged to their sons.  I was so curious to find out who was right because I really believed that one had to be Nicholas'.  At the end of the presentation, we all went to check and I was right!  It turns out that I know my son very well!  :)

 Wednesday, Kyle and I had a play date with good friends.  :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today was Kyle's second day of school. The first day of school, it was one of my volunteer days. Today I was reminding him over and over that this time it was someone else's Mommy or Daddy's turn to work in the classroom and that I would not be in there. He kept saying okay and when we got to school, he said, "It is someone else's turn today. You are going to do work at home while I'm in school, right?" I said yes to him but was secretly very happy to know that he realizes how hard I work at home. Yay! My Baby is growing up and I'm so proud of him.

First Day of Pre-K

Kyle was excited and a little nervous about his first day of school.  He was excited up until this morning; then he didn't want to get out of bed.  He finally reluctantly did, ate his breakfast, and his excitement grew. 
We got there and he was a little unsure, but then he jumped in and started playing.  I was the parent volunteer today so I was able to see him in action.  He did very well and was a great listener.  I'm so excited for all the learning and growing he will do this year.  I keep prepping  him that next class it will be someone else's Mommy's turn to be the helper and I won't be there.  He seems okay with that.

 He found his name tag no problem, but then he was just hanging out there by the table.  I encouraged him to go play and so he explored until he found some dinosaur sorting to do.

 As he played with the dinosaurs, the boy next to him said to him, "I have a brachiosaurus.  What kind of dinosaur do you have?"  Kyle examined his dino and simply stated, "I have a long, orange one."  The other boy just said, "Oh."  HA

 They had to do a self-portrait.  Kyle picked the darkest color skin because he was disappointed to learn there were no blue faces available.
